  • Overview

    DEG is currently searching for a Social Media Strategist with 2-4 years of relevant experience. A successful person in this role will demonstrate an understanding of client business objectives, the ever-changing world of social media and apply innovative strategies to deliver successful marketing and business outcomes. This person will manage relationships with clients, lead and develop strategic insights and manage overall strategic project delivery. 

     

    The Social Media Strategist should have a positive attitude and a get-it-done mentality. Working directly with the Client Services, Creative and Strategic Planning teams, the Social Media Strategist is responsible for developing thoughtful strategies that help clients market to the moment. Financial responsibilities include budget management, tracking billing and expenses for the jobs and accounts managed.

     

    A successful candidate will understand the intricacies of the organic and paid social channels capabilities and thrive in helping clients navigate the constant evolution of social media. They will ensure relevant information is shared across groups (Client-side, Ecommerce, Email, User Experience, Creative, Project Management) and collaboration is translated into specific actions.     Responsibilities

    • Educate client and internal teams on social media and marketing channel value, best practices and ongoing evolution implications
    • Lead projects to ensure they are meeting internal and client expectations 
    • Collaborate with other departments and teams (Creative, Email, Ecommerce, Paid Media, etc.) to coordinate and amplify marketing campaigns
    • Manage and engage social communities and influencers
    • Lead an integrated team to activate social storytelling, creative content development and campaigns
    • Support and present as part of new and existing business development with emphasis on social marketing opportunities
    • Participate in industry and thought leadership activity on behalf of DEG
    • Maintain knowledge of key social media tools, best practices and emerging trends, including:
      • Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
      • Digital management and monitoring tools (Salesforce Social Studio, Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Spredfast, Curalate, Chute, Olapic, etc.)
      • Social media activation (paid, earned and owned)
      • Social media measurement/analytics
      • Social customer care

    Qualifications

    • Two - four years of experience in a digital marketing environment
    • Deep social media expertise with experience in driving social media strategy and executing social media programs for an agency or client side
    • Specific hands-on experience with social marketing channels
    • Specific industry experience is a plus (such as Finance, CPG, Retail, etc.)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Fortitude to stay calm under pressure
    • Ability to manage time well, multitask and prioritize projects and tasks
    • Excellent client service skills and positive attitude
