Business Analyst/Consultant (Portals & Collaboration)

DEG is seeking a Business Analyst to develop and manage requirements for a variety of client projects. The Business Analyst will focus on large portal, website and custom application projects.  This person will be expected to possess a functional knowledge of various platforms (particularly enterprise content management or experience management platforms such as Sitecore Experience Platform or Adobe Experience Manager), have experience defining and documenting business processes, and be familiar with functional specifications and system requirements.  This person should be experienced with traditional Business Analyst software development methodologies in a high pressure, deadline driven consulting setting and be comfortable communicating directly with client stakeholders.

  • Perform business analysis on projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Understand the project scope and high-level business requirements
  • Assist to create high-level business requirements
  • Define and document functional specifications
  • Review Statement of Work (SOW), project timeline, requirements and identify risks
  • Facilitate and lead requirements elicitation meetings with the client
  • Facilitate sprint planning meetings with the project team
  • Manage backlog and future specifications to ensure engineering team is aware of the pipeline
  • Analyze documentation from clients and vendors
  • Create process/data flows to create a visual representation of requirements
  • Participate in design sessions and create wireframes as and when needed
  • Manage requirements, specifications and track changes with use of effective change management process
  • Remove roadblocks for engineering team
  • Assist to create QA test cases, client acceptance test plan and management of issue log
  • Conduct showcases with clients to gather feedback throughout the project
  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure deliverable quality, help other business analysts grow and learn from their work
  • Provide guidance and direction to Associate Business Analysts during the project



  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business area and 3-6 years of formal business analyst experience, or 3-6 years of equivalent work experience in a process driven environment with effective documentation methods
  • Experience with enterprise content Management such as Sitecore or Adobe, CRM, cloud technologies and mobile platforms is a plus
  • Certification of Capability in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®) a plus
  • Experience with various technologies like .Net, Java, UI frameworks, etc. is a plus
  • Prior experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Experience with Agile methodology is a plus
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project activities or work onsite with clients (typically less than 5%)
