DEG is seeking a creative copywriter with digital experience to bring fresh ideas and out-of-the-box thinking for our internal marketing content and campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for a copywriter to assist in the creation of copy and conceptual thinking for a wide range of disciplines and clients across all digital media. This individual must be comfortable managing multiple projects for DEG, and working with marketing department team members to ensure all copy is on-brand and optimized for results. The Digital Copywriter will be accountable for meeting deadlines and delivering content for email, e-commerce, web and social projects.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and can think critically and creatively to solve problems. It is important that this individual possess effective written, verbal and visual communication skills as well as conceptual thinking and ideation. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated knowledge in copywriting best practices across multiple interactive platforms (email, social media, web design, ecommerce and mobile). 


We are looking for a creative writer who likes variety and thoroughly understands the digital space. From Facebook posts to complete website overhauls to multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns, every day the challenges are different and require you to think strategically and creatively to deliver compelling results to our agency. Must be able to collaborate and improvise as there are many internal stakeholders that must be hear and understood, so that we can create the best solution for the stated communication problem. 


  • Create engaging user experiences
  • Write and conceptualize creative content for DEG social media content, email copy, SEO-friendly web copy
  • Write multi-channel campaigns with a consistent message and tone that is nuanced appropriately for each medium
  • Help improve our e-commerce performance with creative and search engine optimized product copy
  • Proofread and edit other team members’ work adhering to AP Style and/or DEG brand-specific style guidelines
  • Deliver copy in a variety of formats
  • Follow internal processes while also seeking ways to increase team efficiencies
  • Work with design team to ensure that the copy and design work together seamlessly
  • Participate in and lead collaborative brainstorm sessions to help come up with winning ideas that propel client success
  • Work with internal clients to develop strategic branding documents that help define their digital voice
  • Present work to internal team members as well as clients
  • Light coding, video production, animation and design skills are a not required, but are definitely a plus
  • Should be able to take projects from concept to completion either individually or within context of team


  • 1-3 years experience writing for digital media
  • BS or BA in Creative Writing, Journalism or related field
  • A diverse online copywriting portfolio that demonstrates effective concepts/content, particularly in digital media
  • Thorough knowledge of AP Style
  • Creative thinker who always considers what is best for the client (even if that means scrapping your work and starting from scratch)
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to stick to deadlines
  • Ability to work with little direction by knowing the client's goals and performing self-directed research
  • Comfortable giving and receiving criticism (don't let your creative ego get the best of you, we're all on the same team here!)
  • Proactive thinker who comes up with solutions to problems before they are even presented
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access
  • Community management and SEO experience a plus
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
